A bit of relief
I had a health scare recently, and made the decision to focus on my health more. I really didn't take my health seriously like I should have been because I went through a pretty rough time and I fell into a bit of depression and anxiety. I started walking at least 10,000 steps a day and changed my diet drastically. I am almost afraid to write this out, because I am afraid I'll jinx myself but making these two changes has drastically changed my overall mental and physical well being. The anxiety was wrecking me, and I know they always say exercise and diet can help your mental health, but logic doesn't always prevail when you are in that headspace. I am actually surprised how much it has helped. Anti-depressants don't work for me (they make my symptoms much worse) and I can't take benzo's because I like them too much so it's not a safe option for me. I am not saying I am cured, I still have my good days and bad days but it's so much better and easier for me to manage now. My depression is more situational and my anxiety is pretty low compared to where I was a year ago. Any ways living a more active lifestyle has really had a positive impact on my life.
