I haven’t been to the dentist for a couple years and am going first time this week. I’m really scared. Here are some pictures, do you think I have cavities?

I'm impressed you can fit an entire cell phone in your mouth to take pictures like that. LOL. Seriously though, those photos are impressive and show a lot of detail. You have very straight teeth. Braces? I'm no dentist, so it's only a guess, but I see dark spots on your lower back molars and a dark spot on the upper right molar, second from the back. May be nothing.

@BizSuitStacy I was wondering how they managed that as well.
SilkenMist · 46-50, F
@BizSuitStacy Yeah I mean the angle, detail, etc.

I think he's probably going to take them all out. It shouldn't hurt that much.

@SilkenMist Lucky you. There was a dentist here back when I was a kid that was still using one of those. Looked like a sewing machine motor with a long belt around a series of pulleys.

@robb65 What the HAIL was it even used for? Sounds more like timing system on a DOHC V6 engine.

@SilkenMist Mostly for cleaning. He had a modern high speed drill but he would occasionally still use the old one to drill out the last little bit. It was an amazing mechanical marvel to see how all those arms and pulleys moved together to keep the belt properly aligned but you really didn't want him to reach for it when he was working on a tooth. It would just about shake you out of the chair. That's been so long ago now I can't remember his name or exactly where his office was.

I found one for sale: https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m81474958169/?gclsrc=aw.ds&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=18068424936&utm_content=t0&adgroup=148093767550&network=g&device=c&merchant_id=134611514&product_id=m81474958169&product_id=1928322082310&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIkZTg-NzO_AIVqQGtBh20rwRsEAQYBSABEgIORfD_BwE

@Newtohere03 usually that indicates the tooth is rotting or starting to rot, could have to have those teeth pulled as you could actually have an infection soon
SilkenMist · 46-50, F
@DiegoWolfe Probably just take a standard filling.

I had much worse condition. Also had sharp pain sometimes. Went to dentist, he advised me for removal of two teeth, and treatment for other three. I did nothing and just started to brush my teeth thoroughly. After 5 years went to dentist again, he said, just one teeth can be removed if it bothers you, every other thing is ok, just brush regularly.

Any dentists here!? There are some teeth waiting
Mardrae · F
Why are you scared? They’ll do X-rays, which don’t hurt. Then you’ll make an appointment to get cavities filled if you have any. When you get the cavities filled, ask for gas and several shots. You’ll be fine. Even root canals aren’t that bad. Just get the gas and breathe in deeply.
SilkenMist · 46-50, F
Your teeth do not look real bad. Of course probably no one on here is a dentist, nor am I.

Even if you need some work, it is better to get it done rather than deal with the pain of a messed up tooth. Apparently a bad tooth, once to a certain point, hurts like hell.

🤔.....................Well you have had your wisdom teeth pulled.................and looks like the 3 and 14 teeth might be cracked? And you could have issues with the 18 and 31 teeth..............but I'm not a dentist.........wishing you a good check up at the dentist! Great photos by the way!
iamelijah · 26-30, F
Scaling would be good although there is little rotting there just keep aware how depth the rotten teeth condition.

And yes, you do have cavities. Look at yellow stain there.

Those back teeth are a pain to clean with a normal brush. Do u use a electric toothbrush. But your teeth are in good shape but those back ones will need a little work. But it isn't That bad if u ask me
alan20 · M
At least you have teeth! Keep it that way. It really isn't so bad, except for paying the bill.

Possibly 3 cavities ! Without X-rays ! You had braces ? Pretty good photography
Matt85 · 36-40, M
Don't bite their finger. I did it once by accident.
Confined · 51-55, M
The molars top and botton have cavities.
TeirdalinFirefall · 26-30, M
I suspect you have four cavities.
walabby · 61-69, M
Five fillings, I'd say. :(
Graylight · 46-50, F
