So i had to see a doctor. She was quite young and carried out her examination. Then i sat and waited for her diagnosis. She then carried out a Google search... now i'm not sure how confident i feel about her.... your thoughts...
I think it's okay. Doctors search engines could have access to further informational archives too. I have had a doctor do this to me too and i was suspicious as well. My issue got treated though so he must have done sth right. Overall I don't trust them much. I believe in ancient methods of prevention. Yet sometimes they are necessary.
Mmm.i had a young doctor get a medical dictionary off the shelf once... After which, still baffled ,she ordered every blood test under the sun...which revealed my problem.Glandular Fever....unusual for soneone in their fifties! Don’t knock it..young doctors are usually more concerned about missing something.
I'd welcome that over being brushed off over and over and told there's nothing wrong with me and that it's probably just something "psychogenic" because the basic exam and a test didn't show anything and plenty of people deal with symptoms like this so it's "normal" and yada yada yada. I've stopped trying to figure out my issues and going to doctors unless I really have to long time ago, it's not worth all the hassle when nobody will pay attention to you unless you're having serious issues.
The same thing happened when I went to John Muir hospital…the nurse actually googled my symptoms…😅 TF! That pissed me off …and I started looking around for some other nurse. Truly baffling how they pass and get a job…🙄
Searching the internet is no different than doctors reading the latest medical journals to keep up with changes/advances. I would be sure she was not perusing Wikipedia.
I don't care for the "newer" doctors. They don't seem as caring, it's like they want to move you in and out as fast as they can. Wait and see what happens. I hope it's nothing too serious. The medical field is strained these days. 😔
Better than if she concluded something without clarifying it on google. There are new researches and diagnosis being evolved day by day. Today's medical science is not like a book written years ago. Doctors have to keep themselves updated. It's just she googled in front of you. She could have done it later, but it was her take to conclude something after googling, or go with the doubts.
@Disguised When you do something beautiful and extra ordinary, people identifies you with what you do, not how you look. It's about, getting yourself recognized by what you do.
If they can't accept you, you will have to learn to accept their behavior.
My sister had an older doctor argue that alopecia wasn’t related to stress. She literally took a medical book from the shelf flipped through it and then said surprisingly “oh it can be stress induced!” 🤨
