Would you invite people to join SW?

Absolutely not.

Firstly, I've deliberately been keeping anonymous here and not even using my regular nicknames or anything as I want to be able to feel like I can talk freely about things I otherwise could, without having to deal with any outcome of things being leaked back to people. For instance, while I now have the post hidden, I once talked about some issues relating to a family member who was showing some signs that I was unsure might be very early dementia. I couldn't have had that kind of free discussion about it without the anonymity. As such, for the most part I would prefer to keep my anonymity, meaning there's little-to-no chance that I'm inviting anyone I know outside of SW.

Even so, I feel this has become quite a toxic place, not to mention that I think it's managed in a not so competent way. I wouldn't want to lure someone I know into dealing with a place like this, they deserve better.

Just in general I feel this place has both slowly moved away from what drew me to it and is moving more and more towards just being your average, run-of-the-mill social network. If they do go through with this I suspect we'll see the rise of SWinfluencers and a start seeing people make posts with the sole purpose of trying to profit, and trying to 1-up each other in order to get an extra buck. At that point I think SW is dead to me. It may bear the name of a place I once supported, but at that point it will just be too far removed from what it was.

Honestly, if they really have that much money to throw away that they are willing to practically throw it at users, as well as them saying they have seen their revenue increase each year, I'd much rather they put that money into staffing this site properly and solidifying systems with that money. But the fact that this whole revenue scheme is now being thrown around does not, in my opinion, bode well for the way this site is managed... and again, a prime reason for me to not want to invite anyone.

So yeah, I guess that's my reasons for this being very a much a hard no from me.

No, for 2 reasons, anyone irl who knows I'm on here thinks there's something wrong with me and their perception is that this place is crazy, the people here are all problematic and nasty

2, I like to be relatively free to be me and not having family or people I know seeing my comments, posts or What I'm saying or doing or even how often I'm here or not here..that's what Facebook is like, and I deleted that permanently

I wouldn’t invite anyone to join this place because they couldn’t handle the people I dealt with. I’m here anonymously and would keep it that way. Maybe I would invite someone that is super tough and wouldn’t get hurt by any of the harassing people here.

Not right now. I think monetization will bring a lot of changes to this site. I got the impressions that it is an ambitious idea. With all the issues that youtube, twitch and other social sites had to iron out over time with money and legalities, it would be niave to think it will be smooth sailing. These are still ongoing issues even now for those sites.

Not saying it can't be done. It can.

I just think the level of scrutiny on this site will skyrocket.

I joined when I was 17 because I wasn’t allowed to have social media until I was an adult (A legal adult), idk, it would kinda ruin the energy if I invited friends and family. Well, there might be a couple friends I would, but still.

i like the unique format of this web site still. It isn’t EP but it is close enough to rock and roll for me. I disclose very personal stuff publicly but i would do the same amount of self disclosure in real life.

no, this is where I come to be anonymous, here I can anonymously discuss my views, or emotions or girlfriend problems and it has no consequence on my life. so I don't want my friends to come here and i don't want people from here in my private life.

I am not sure what is monetizable. I wouldn't pay to see most of the posts. Even taking out the ones suggested, we are left with the suicidal, the kids pretending to be adults, and the random.
