We make our own happiness ... I choose to be happy ... and I am !!!
very happy, I never put the key to my happiness in someone else's pocket
@Mindfulness Not raging against it. There are a lot of philosophical stances which appear compelling for people in the middle, either socioeconomically or morally/ethically, etc.

Lots of lovely photos with some sentiments imposes fall into this category. If they are meaningful to you, or whomever, great.

But if you imagine telling this to someone who is hungry all the time, has no safe/secure/solid/sealed habitation, and very little income that they are the authors of their happiness or lack of happiness...

Well, for those people, the message seems hollow, not deep, and even unsympathetic to the actual plight of a real person who likely did NOT chose to be destitute, homeless, and ever hungry.
@SomeMichGuy I've made a mental note not to post a meme if someone says they're hungry. Thank you for enlightening me.

I’m happy with what I have, I don’t get tangled in things that don’t affect me. And even though bad days happen I can be confident they are temporary and there are many good times ahead.

Failing that…

I am almost always content. Happiness is not a state that continuously exists, just as the sun doesn't always shine.

When you reach a point in your life when you realize that your happiness is NOT dependent on other people, and you own it and it becomes all about YOU, then you can be happy in almost any part of your life.

Knowing what's important to you, for me is having someone there for you, that can be your mates, family or girlfriend. For me it's NOT about money or what you do, it's who you do it with that counts.

Key is to become happy within yourself first then you can become the real you. Once you have achieved this everything else around you with not disturb you.
