You follow me...why cant i add you?

Ive been going throught my list of circle and followers.
Some people follow me by when ive tried to add them back it tell me i cant.
Why is this?

I can only assume it is my age and their perception is that any guy over 55? must be a dirty old perv?
Never once have I posted smut, racist comments, commented on boobs, ridiculed anyone. I have in fact been rather pure here as my profile will attest.

@RubySoo That is a lot of people who have you blocked.
I am almost certain if someone has you blocked then you will only see, "This message was deleted"
Unless you are filtered out via age and whatever? Do not really know
System is not perfect.
I only know someone has blocked me when the, "This message is deleted" appears.
But it is on the responders message.
When I click on the person I get the "You are not....."
Gave up worrying about it quite a while ago.

@Fungirlmmm i didnt have her blocked and she says shes never blocked me. She sent me a screenshotvthat clearly showed me already a friend on her page....so...dunno. she unfriended me...then se t a new request and it worked x

That seems quite weird. Had a look through settings again, and I can't see any settings that would prevent that. You can block friend requests from anyone under 18 and over 56. Anything else seems to automatically be open.

The only thing I can think of is if filtering messages (and forcing certain usergroups to message requests instead of inbox) also affect friend/follow requests despite it not being stated anywhere that it does.

I may have overlooked something though.

@PirateMonkeyCabinet a lady i talk with on my follow list.....it just wouldnt let me add her. I messaged her....she had a tick to show were were already friends ....but i didnt.
She removed me then sent ne a request... i was added to add her then. Weird!
