Hi want to be my friend?

Seriously, are there SW etiquette rules to friending people here? Can I just go friending people all willy nilly? If I just randomly friend you do I come off as desperate? What are the benefits of friendship? Someone friended me and I’ve never heard from him again? Gasp!! Does friending make you disappear?

I usually only friend people I talk with in posts, but I'm not sure there's any benefits to being friends here other than it helps you remember who your friends are. :P lol
