if you had a pic of a very rare creature would you contact the media or tell others about it ?

part of me wouldn't want too , lending too that the creature has a right to a life and not be poked or studied by mankind to oblivion , thereby leaving it in peace unless of course it was very dangerous for humanity

Media absolutely not. They would kill of it's environment with their intrusions into it's environment.

Yet their are places that actually research different things. Those few that I know won't even put up images to others until they have verified in a none intrusive way.

Heck if they have already identified it they'll put up your image themselves..

I have two such images on one of those sites. One of them is this. A wingless wasp aka cow killer.

After they identified it, my image was up within three days. It's a bit rare to find one in my area. Yet not unusual.

BTW this is mildly poisonous. Not deadly unless someone is allergic.

@DeWayfarer i wouldn't even know that was a Wasp
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@FurryFace it's a female, the males actually fly. The females don't. Not much is known on how they mate or nest. Normal wasps do have a hive of sorts.

Like you I’d just be happy to know it was wild and surviving in my area rather than draw attention to it.

I'd leave it b as scientist would dissect it

@candycane yes they would , Mankind always has to find out what makes it tick , i'm more for letting it have its Freedom
