Is walking in the mall for 2 hours (window shopping) considered "walking" too? For fitness I mean.

Degbeme · 70-79, M
For me being in a mall for two hours is called torture. 🤭
akindheart · 61-69, F
yes. anytime you are off your couch, that is exercise
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@akindheart Get to work you. 🤨
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Degbeme let me get out of this chair and chase you down...🤣

Absolutely. And if you would like to go for a healthy run, just steal something from one of the stores.
scorpiolovedeep · 46-50, M
Yes.
When it rains , that’s the place I go to.

I usually do 45mins to 60 mins.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
I consider walking a mile to be a good walk for health, two miles if it's a slow walk.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Oh yes those steps add up really well. Better than being at home and sitting around all day. I get out to several stores in a day sometimes mostly just to get exercise and browse around.
TexChik · F
absolutely. People do that in Minnesota at the Mall of America...to get exercise because its too cold and snowy to be outside.
Reflection2 · 36-40, M
Those particular walks are actually a state of mind. you take time for your self and put your mind off for a while.
ShadowSister · 46-50, F
Fitbit counts steps as steps. That's all I'm saying.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@ShadowSister i wear a fitbit and it also counts moving ones arms in bed. i know...
ShadowSister · 46-50, F
@akindheart Yeah it does mess up from time to time. When I drive in my car, it sometimes thinks I'm getting steps. But overall, a step is a step. But she is probably not getting as many steps from mall shopping as she might think she's getting.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@ShadowSister i was on a cruise the past 5 days. i was over 10,000 steps each day with no problem
Heartlander · 80-89, M
Yes, when compared to watching TV for 2 hours.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
Too far doesn't exist
plasticpants02 · 61-69, M
No, you need to get your heart rate up and keep it there for 20 minutes for any signifcant exercise.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
Better than nothing. But you need to walk quickly between windows.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@ninalanyon to avoid temptation
Chickie · F
Some people exercise walking or jogging outside of the mall
