Why do people delete comments?

It just makes you look like you can't handle some truth thrown your way. Even if that's not the desired outcome, or even if it's not truth you're deleting, that's what it looks like. It makes you look weak and pathetic.

I think you've hit the nail on the head, and I don't suppose the irony of their actions will ever occur to them.

I have deleted only one comment on anything I'd started, and that only because it was needless, meaningless and peurile swearing.
You could have just left it. [@519706,ArishMell]

[@14748,Zebrawl] I could and I don't think it was meant nastily, but I prefer constructive debate and did not want my thread (which was about music) dragged down into mere, potty-mouthed idiocy.
I usually leave those. But to each their own. [@519706,ArishMell]

Sometimes I delete unnecessary antagonistic comments like people bringing up weird political points on a post that has nothing to do with it. People deleting replies that are in the middle of a conversation are super weird and irritating though.

[@14748,Zebrawl] It's censorship, so yes. But honestly, I wasn't talking about you. I have PTSD from being on here so long. 😝
