Yes, I believe in electromagnetism (EM).

But I do not believe in souls and do not want to mate (as in conceive a child).
Reject · 26-30, M
I believe a soulmate is simply someone who more compatible with you then anyone else. Any circumstances surrounding that are possible.

Some people can only have one at a time. Some people can have multiple. That depends on whatever works for you because a soulmate is again, all about compatibility.

If they die before you meets them, then you’ll simply have to find another one compatible enough.

Yes, even abusive people can have an ideal partner who’s compatible with their abuse.

If they’re a serial killer then you’re probably as sick as them in some way.

If they cheat on you, then I’d argue they’re not a soulmate because that’s not a very compatible thing to do, is it?

If you bond with someone enough, I’d hope you can overlook their socks and sandals, but if not. Don’t worry. Your soulmate wouldn’t be wearing those in that case.

If you don’t want a soulmate, then they’d respect that and you two would connect over a mutually respected distance.
Great questions! I don't think it's limited to one, which implies the answer to most of these. I'm not sure if a few options is even real though.

I think soulmate is just another way of saying someone you really click with, feel safe with. I can't imagine it going much beyond that.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I believe in common ground and that might change throughout the life. We might share it with someone in a certain episode of our life and if we get to meet each other at the right time we create connection but if we met 5 years later we might as well be complete strangers to each other. If the connection is built we start to influence each other and share our reality so the feeling of connection is reinforced.

..Or not, if like they say, it's all based on hormones and connection evaporates as soon as some biological need is fulfilled. 😐
@CrazyMusicLover Have you ever just taken on having a lover? You might find that connection breeds another connection
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@thewindupbirdchronicles I can't honestly imagine that but I don't have the experience to confirm or deny if that is possible for me.

@DDonde Sometimes the life starts for the parents. 🤭 There's this joke that goes: "Do you know when the life starts? When kids leave home and the dog dies." 😅 But I understand, I had a friend who had to temporarily return home because conflicts between his parents escalated to the point he was afraid they might do something to each other. I think it doesn't help when parents retire around the same time their kid leaves and suddenly find themselves being suffocated with each others presence with no buffer zone between them.
@CrazyMusicLover Well, I won't say how, and I've always been serious about relationships (and partners of mine would tell you) and I picked a very different path recently. It can open your mind

There's so many people out there that you're bound to have someone that is pretty much perfectly suited for you. I don't believe you'll actually ever find them though.
PoizonApple · 41-45, F
@Rolexeo that's the most optimistic cynicism I've ever heard :)
HannahSky · F
I think there's energy between people and with some it's stronger, but I'm not convinced there's a soul mate for people. If it were true, wouldn't everyone find that person?
This is what I’ve read, but who knows.
They say you get many soulmates in this lifetime so that answers the questions above. They also say you get only one twin flame so that’s the conundrum to above.
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
I think they are a myth. If you think a person is your "soulmate" that might motivate you to put more into the relationship. If you have those feelings, they are probably making that same effort, too.
LucyFuhr · 56-60, F
I DO!
And no, I'm pretty sure I've had more than one.

As for the rest of the people you're asking about, they're more into codependence than the twin flame thing. That goes for the guy in sandals too. Steer clear unless that's your thing.

And lastly, lie and tell all of them you've already got one til a soulmate worth wanting shows up 😉
SW-User
I believe in twin flames and soul connections and I am not sure everyone get a chance to have that which is why it's so hard when you lose it as you know you probably never will experience something like that again.
@SW-User Like a duality of sorts? One offering something you needed and the other one offering you something different you never understood you needed?
Bang5luts · M
No. I don't believe in soulmates. "[big]Only one person per soul please![/big] [big]Remember, the social distancing guidelines! Thank you have a nice pandemic![/big]"
@Bang5luts Is there physical distancing in heaven? If so, I'm going to hell.
Bang5luts · M
@thewindupbirdchronicles yes. Actually I just called to check my reservations. And yup, there is and they said don't forget my mask. Because in heaven there isn't any vaccines yet.
@Bang5luts It takes two to make things go right, it takes two to make it out of sight. Guess the memo hasn't transcended from earth to heaven
Abstraction · 61-69, M
I think that if you become a mature, caring, unselfish person with values, because you do things like take personal responsibility for your actions and can admit when you're wrong, you're always honest no matter what, you believe love is about giving and commitment not just feelings, you genuinely care about others...

When you're like that you can meet far more people who would feel like a soul mate.

If you're self-absorbed, sulky, dishonest, selfish person, immature person, then maybe there's no-one who's going to think you're their soul mate and wonderful to be around.

I think it's just like that.
PoizonApple · 41-45, F
@Abstraction I dig it
CestManan · 46-50, F
"Do abusive people get soul mates?"

Of course, abusive a-holes always seem to be in relationships.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
I believe that in life, you meet several people who would rise to the level of "soulmate".
PoizonApple · 41-45, F
@uncalled4 I agree
Like a Jackson Pollock painting, I imagine there is a smattering of soulmates depending on where the paint gets thrown
PoizonApple · 41-45, F
@PoizonApple You helped the analogy happen.... I never thought of it that way
SW-User
I don't believe in soul mates, I believe in connections.
PoizonApple · 41-45, F
@SW-User right on
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
Pretty sure my soulmate either got hit by a bus or missed the train completely. If he shows up now - too freaking late. And no, I don't believe in soulmates. Just a myth made up by either a desperately lonely person or one so in love they can't see reality.
PoizonApple · 41-45, F
@LadyBronte the idea of a soulmate is a pretty sad one if you think about it. Kind of like a sentencing.
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@PoizonApple In it's finest form, it would be a great thing, but I still don't believe in them. Might have been different when I felt I was loved, but that is a thing of the past.
