Organize a meet up at your local library

Volunteer .. church if you are of faith .. Newcomers or other groups .. adult education courses (pottery, bourbon or wine appreciation, gourmet cooking, etc)

Bridge? if you like cards, anyway, there's a bunch of bridge clubs that meet during the day, at least in Tampa and in New Orleans, I can only assume the rest of the Gulf Coast will be similar
