Are people really so selfish?

There's this guy I've been talking to and he never reciprocates any of my questions.
"why are you still talking you may ask?"
He sends me images of the things I've told him I have an interest in.
Daily.
So that tells me he's still interested.
But he just never asks how I am first.
In fact he would rather tell me about all his ailments and his adventures of his day.

But he often knows everything about everything and will suggest I do outside reading incase I'm not getting what he's talking about.
