Well it takes personal discipline you need to develop . And if you want to lose it in 6-8 months ( sooner if you are disciplined) ... keto works . There is a website [b][i]Dietdirect.com[/i][/b] . They have a bulk of the food and the counseling ( tell you what to eat and when ) and you get busy . Eventually they will want you to start walking too . They will visit with you each time you order your food , ask you your weight and BP and discuss any issues like plateaus or digestive issues . Ladies at my old office combine to lose an average of 40 pounds each. Some lost over 100 . They said the first 2,weeks were the toughest , after that it was much easier . Most lost 20 pounds per month . You can do this !
Drink water instead of soda and sugary drinks cut out sugar

@ExperienceDLT i love soda. i drink at least one per day. if i cut that out, i would easily lose 5 lbs.
@akindheart its hard to do its hard to cut unhealthy habits cause its the unhealthy stuff that taste the best but it really does help

@ExperienceDLT it is my one vice. i try to keep it to one..sometimes 1.5...and always diet caffeine free
