I thought Tennessee is good.

I understand the dairies having problems because they've lost their catering-trade customers for the time being, but why aren't the shops managing to still sell it, whether full-cream or skimmed, pasteurised or sterilised?

Pasteurising is the normal way to keep milk fresh for a few days, but for only a few days, and then only before opening.

For longer life it has to be sterilised at a much higher temperature, and with suitable treatment called "Ultra High Temperature" such milk can be kept sealed for months without refrigeration. It does though, affect the taste, and will not last any longer than pasteurised once opened.

(I bought half a dozen cartons of "UHT" milk before going into hospital for an operation, so on return I had enough at home for the week or so before I was fit enough to visit my nearest shops. I should add I did NOT go stupid with shopping in the present crisis!)

i'm still drinking pasteurized milk. they even limit how much i can buy as it sells out fast.

Cafes having to close has affected sales too....
