You are right. The truth usually rests in the middle.

I think I'm mostly in agreement with Zaxel.
Particularly on the conflict thing.
The truth is the truth.
Compromising / adjusting truth is simply dishonest.

@SW-User If you don't know what the truth is, assuming it's somewhere between your opinion and his ain't exactly brilliant.

You seem to be conflating 'the truth' and 'possible explanations'.
Again - only the truth can be the truth.
If you don't know - then say that - don't assume.

As I said, you don’t know what truth is. You just use your emotions to assume the truth. I use conventional methods, evidences and facts to find it. Till the truth is found out, assuming that it’s in the middle is much safer than assuming someone is right/wrong all the time. That’s how judicial systems work. That’s why both sides are allowed to have lawyers.

At least in my case, I will evaluate and find where it lies. In your case your assumption would bring the disaster to you and others. You are basically saying, “he’s my friend, so he can’t be a criminal” while investigation may prove otherwise. . @Budwick

@SW-User Fire - NEVER did I suggest that we should ASSUME anything.
Nothing can be KNOWN by assumption.

If you KNOW the truth on some topic, and your friend disagrees with some aspect of what you know. The truth does not lie in the middle somewhere. It lies where the truth is.

I think we had different staring points or something.

But if you're not sure on something, and your freind sounds like he IS certain - then it's your turn to investigate and determine if that's where the truth lies or not. I would NOT suggest assuming he is right without checking yourself.

Are we good?

1. friends shouldnt expect their friends to agree with them all the time
2. listening their opinions without dismissing them can be an effective strategy
3. keeping the same conclusion without truly listening is unfair
4. i disagree that in a conflict, that theres often a middle-ground. sometimes people are flatout wrong about something
