I sometimes just say later ✌ ( emoticon not always used).

I just stop responding and leave it open ended. In a way it just never ends. I only text a couple people and they do the same thing. I realize people get busy or sidetracked. If I'm going to be away for more than a couple days I'll tell the person. Chat soon.

I’ve been using the reaction thingies that you can access by pressing down on their last response. Choices such as like, love and a few others. That can often wrap things up nicely.
