Do you prefer to share a house or live alone?

Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
With the exception of raising my kids my favorite time in life was the few years I lived alone.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Keepitsimple I may need to live alone soon, never have. I can't afford an alarm system. Any tips for feeling safe? Maybe a bright spotlight at night?
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@Coralmist There are so many alarm systems for free. You can get the ring doorbell and cameras and your phone will go off when somebody passes your house or comes up to the door. You can watch your house when you’re not even home. Look into them.

@Keepitsimple Thanks Keep, they are free?

Live alone.

I normally like living with someone but I'm wanting to live on my own. My own rules would be nice for a while.
RoxClymer · 41-45, M
I prefer to share one of those big old homes that has been devided into apts, we have our own space but can check on each other
Fluffybull · F
@RoxClymer That's a good compromise 👍
@RoxClymer great idea.
Right now I share space with other people, but I really want my own place for me and my cats.

Living alone is pretty nice except when I get lonely. Then I remember being married to a psycho for thirteen years or having all of the kids in the countryside over playing video games with my son, or Josh skipping school, or Jessica coming home drunk after one of her nights out on the town, or crying and fighting with her boyfriend and everything seems great!

I share my apartment with my cat 🐈
I'm used to being alone.
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
Living alone.maybe I should get another cat or a dog.

I've done both. Sharing a house is fine, if you are not sharing it with someone with mental issues. I loved sharing my life in those times when the ex was sane. Since I can't have my life with Dr. Jekyll, whom I did love, I choose to live alone rather than have another moment with Mr. Hyde.
@4meAndyou Mr. Hyde😂

living alone is no fun. a family is a blessing.
I've lived w a significant other & our kids, completely alone, and now with just my kids, and I prefer living with my kids as opposed to not. As far as living with a significant other, I'm not seeking prospects but also not eliminating the idea completely from my mind.

My son and his girlfriend live with me but they are moving out soon...empty nest syndrome hasn't set in yet.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@FreeSpirit1 Once the empty nest happens, you'll love it!

Am happy living with hubby and the goldfish but it's fun getting the house to myself sometimes 😊
BigBulge · 41-45, M
OH, the peace and quiet of living alone ! Happy, happy, happy !
ArtieKat · M
I like people - but I like my own space more!

Living alone is boring. Would love sharing.
ABCDEF7 · M
I would like to share, but difficult to choose who.
Interesting.

Boundaries in a shared house are hard to enforce, so alone gives you most control/peace of mind about having your space as you like it.

I think the best would be having neighbors who are close friends, so you could have "alone" at your home, but have social outlets in several house right around or near you.

Live like i do now alone with my 2 cats

i prefer my own space now, the pitfalls of shared living is they could move someone in who you hate and if they live there with you, you can't escape them, living alone you don't have that problem.
have done both in the last year. Alan prefers us together. buzz and woody like it better when I was alone
BitterSweetPotato · 31-35, F
Probably alone. But if it is a good friend, I wouldn’t mind. If it is just a roommate, then nah would prefer alone.
I prefer living alone, but enjoy sharing my house with the "right" person. Just not all the time.
Live alone, but a roommate would be nice to help out with bills.
Royrogers · 61-69, M
Living with friends can be fun. But I relaxed better on my own.
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
Live alone, but my kids refuse to leave.
