I Think Laughter Is the Best Medicine

A Story From My Youth:... My first serious scooter accident happened when I was 15 years old. It was a hit and run; i.e A car drove into me and then drove away. As a result I broke my right arm, right leg and injured one of the vertebrae in my neck.  Despite this, I was in a well humored mood. I was laughing and joking around the entire time. I barely felt any pain at all during that time, and I give all credit to the numbing power of laughter.

It was only later, when my father arrived at the hospital and was giving me a hard time, that I felt the pain from my injuries. It was the first time since the accident that I cried and the pain was intensified a thousandfold.

If that does not stand testament to the healing powers of laughter, I don't know what does.
