Make nail cutting a routine of pets, treats and laptime.
Cats are "Great" fun ... They don't like it EVER.
I've one furry ball of muscles that avoids all attempts at me nail trimming.
He can smell my "nail trim time” thoughts 9 think. I happily keep my blood inside my body and PAY the vet techs to trim the TEN TOES OF DEATH!
It takes 2 of them, possibly 3, to hold his fat angry 😾wiggling ass still enough and grip a fuzzy paw well enough to snip each Razor Sharp Claw before being sliced to shreds.

@WaryWitchWandering I've Never asked what the Vet Techs charge me, the basic bill is so bad anyway, I humbly hand over the credit card.
They gave me Gabapentin to shove down into his mouth, "It'll make him Drowsy!" 😹😸🤣
But, I like my fingers not bitten off! And even Drowsy he's still strong and SHARP.
