I dont get it...

Do you have trouble understanding if people like you or cant stand you? Sometimes I cant tell the difference.

No, I can usually feel it. But I have to say I dislike how many are too scared to express their feelings towards me.

I am a direct person and I often expect the same from others.

I try to not overthink it. If I get an impression someone doesn't like me I return the favour and keep my distance if possible. But mostly I think people just don't care about me one way or another. I'm just one random face in the crowd that's easy to forget. I rarely ever felt open enmity or obvious liking from other people in my life. But if it happens I'm always more baffled by affinity than antipathy. I understand why people could dislike me.

Tbh yes, a lot of the time I have no idea. I think the more years we spend being taught to mistrust our experiences of the world, the more doubt we come away with that we are able to trust how we experience other people.

@summersong You know exactly what I mean. It feels like a handicap not being able to understand others cues. But then again, after all the abuse over a course of a lifetime, how are we expected to? I cant ask anyone to be anything more or less, but I dont know how to react to signals that could mean, bye I hate you or later friend. It makes communicating with others an anxious experience 😔

Yes. People who I thought were okay with me and who I thought enjoyed my company turned out to be using me. Their hatred of me came out at the worst possible time. I can’t trust my judgment when it comes to that.

i can tell for the most part. if i cannot figure out wether they like me or not, i will get myself into situations where it will bring me around them more so i can get more responses from them. and it eventually shows itself.
