What is a tradition that’s unique to your family?

Leaving messages for each other in the steam on bathroom mirrors.

Getting drunk at airshows.

Making insults up from the letters of people’s licence plates on long car journeys.

Acid reflux after being forced fed every Christmas.

I make South African dishes on the weekend or holidays as I grew up there so I love to recreate meals such as, Cape Malay curry Braai/Shisa nyama Potjiekos and Somtimes Vetkoek

We've been going to the same chinese restaurant since my parents moved into the area. We've had christenings, a wedding, and a couple of wakes there.

Now, unfashionably, circumcision.
My father used to take us to the Christmas tree lighting in Ghirardelli Square, then we’d go in and have cocoa. They’d stopped doing that after we kids left home. My youngest sister returned home after her divorce with her daughter and Pop revived the tradition. A couple of times he and Mom would take Sis and my niece to Ghirardelli’s and the rest of us would meet them there.
