Are you OK if your man friend or boyfriend cries in front of you? How do you feel about male crying?

If it is not OK for a guy to cry in public, is it OK in private?

I don't expect anyone to be able to maintain perfect composure and decorum all the time in public.

It is human, not weak, or inherently feminine, to express emotion. I think people confuse vulnerability with weakness a lot. They not mutually inclusive, either.

It is perfectly okay for men to cry.

I have seen soldiers cry, and police officers cry, but it was always for a very good reason...like a tragic death.

Maybe I am old fashioned, but I am a woman and I refuse to cry in public. If I know I am going to cry I lock myself in the ladies room when I am in public. I consider public weeping humiliating.

i'm okay with it, privately or publicly. to me it's a sign that they aren't afraid to show their need to be comforted. it's a healthy way to deal with stress, and shouldn't be discouraged.

Crying for cause is one thing, blubbering over everything is something else
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@xixgun I think that's true for men and women. Only small children cry over every frustration or difficulty.
xixgun · M
@greenmountaingal Or at least, that's the way it should be.

Never in public unless it's a funeral, and even then, just a few stray tears... I'm not a fan of public displays of emotion of any sort.
@Quizzical Is that part of that legendary “Stiff upper lip” demeanor you folks have made famous ? 🤔
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@bijouxbroussard I suppose a small part of it may be that, though mainly it's my own ethos.

Stoicism is unfortunately a dying attitude in this era of the perpetually offended.
@ToastyPickles shut it Pick ! or I'll slap you silly !!!
Ohh my... 🤭🤗😏@MarmeeMarch

@MarmeeMarch Yep, we all know that you're a puss. No need to establish that

I love to make men cry.

@Nebula would you dump kitty litter on them? C:
Nebula · 41-45, F
No, hahaha. Would you?
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
@Nebula only on commercials c:
JBird · F
Nope, it would break my heart no matter if it's a man or a woman

It's perfectly fine

I don't care if it's a man or woman; I feel helpless and sad when anyone is crying in front of me.
Oops. To answer the first and 3rd questions, I'm not okay with it but it's okay for them to cry when they feel like crying whether they're in public or not.
Guys are entitled to cry as much as anyone .. So long as its about something reasonable and not just every trival thing like a cry baby drama queen.. Like nobody wants that
navigatorTR · 41-45, M
I pity for the guys who try to hide their feelings to seem more "manly". Everyone should live their feelings freely.

Of course it’s okay. When a man trusts me enough to be vulnerable with me, I’m honored.

Mammals cry

I was brought up not to, so it's incredibly ingrained. But I didn't pass it on, I feel it's healthy to be able to
