Why have people become so lazy? Whenever i tell anyone it is a 15 mins walk from my home to the train station, they are like; ohhh that’s a lot!

And give me a sorry look LOL

15 mins walk!!! That’s nothing even in the worst weather. I used to walk for over an hour last winter just because I wanted to avoid figuring out which train or bus I should take LOL

I just walked for over two hours while it was snowing non stop and I AM OKAY! I don’t even feel tired, actually I feel active and refreshed.
@BittersweetPotato Cold weather does that :)

I am a walker, and I like hiking.

One time, when I was camping for a few days at a state park, I got into a conversation with a group of 20-somethings who had driven to the lake at the park. We were standing by a trail map, and I was pointing out interesting things to see, and they were shocked that I had actually walked along those trails to see them. (The shock was not that an "old guy" did this, but that anyone would do it! -- it was something they would never have considered.)

I can no longer walk that 15 minutes -- thanks to my heart, etc. -- but when I was your age I thought nothing of things like dropping my van off for servicing at the garage and walking a couple of miles back home, then walking back to pick it up when the garage was finished with it.
@ChipmunkErnie Before I got sick I was a serious walker, I could cover a mile in 20 minutes, I would often walk 2.5 miles to work, and 2.5 miles back in my mid to late 20's, and still be on my feet all day at work.
15 minutes is nothing…

@TheSirfurryanimalWales Exactly lol this was one of the reasons I bought this condo, because it is so close to the train station when I will need to commute! People are so lazy lol

A lot of people gripe if they can’t find a parking space in front of a store cause they don’t like to walk far.

thats the perfect walk unless its Summer in Florida
For a healthy person that's not bad indeed.

@NerdyPotato Yea all these people are not particularly unhealthy or too old. Honestly, I think just lazy and used to cars and trains. I remember my ex colleagues once had to park the car too close to the restaurant because they did not walk for like five minster or probably less. Thats like crazy.

15 mins walk to a train station is a luxury.

@NativePortlander1970 You're the exception my dude!

If my calculi are correct those numbers are my regular too (sorta, technically work is closer to my home but often I go for a longer walk to go through the fancier parts of the city)
No such thing as bad weather just the wrong clothing

Not everyone can be a strong and durable potato like you 💪🥔
I admit it sounds exhausting to me now because I’m "ten years older than baseball", as my mother used to say. But when I was young, that was no big deal. That was about the length of my trek to the BART station that got me to work.

And thats why you look so fit, keep it up girl.

Because they don't value hard work like they used to. Or just being out and about and enjoying life anymore. We are seeing a zombie state society now .
In the past I would have booked it there in seven minutes, today, being on assisted oxygen, I'll be lucky to make it within an hour.
