I Want to Grow a Vegetable Garden

The compost pile is still frozen, so I guess I can crawl back into bed. In other news my potato seeds that I harvested from last year's potatoes have begun to sprout. I'm wondering how they're going to turn out. I've never grown potatoes from seed before.

I never had luck with that either but have cut potatoes (store bought) into halves and planted them with luck. Make sure you use soil mixed with more sand than soil.

@acpguy I've been growing All Blue potatoes for years from last years crop. I just thought I would try to grow some from the seeds that they produce.

@Sourdad Those blues are supposed to be the healthiest and that is what I grow too.

@acpguy We have heavy clay soil and they do well. Last year I planted some German Butterballs and they did well too.

Potatoes are very easy to grow. Let them sprout and then plenty of water and hulming-up.

@TheConstantGardener I've been doing that for years, but last year I collected some of the potato tomatoes and harvested the seeds. It's the seeds that are sprouting.
