I Wanted Soup Yesterday Due To Dental Work & I Made A New Recipe With What I Had…

Cooked some chicken legs overnight in the Crockpot and deboned them. Sliced up almost a whole package of mushrooms and a couple tablespoons of finely minced onion…sautéed those in olive oil, added a quart of chicken broth plus about a pint of broth from the Crockpot, the chicken, some more thyme, salt & pepper and a small sprinkle of garlic powder and heated it all up. Used my immersion blender to blend it together. Then thickened it with potato starch and half-and-half…(could use cornstarch instead of potato starch). Made a tasty cream soup. This recipe is a keeper especially for winter, had a couple bowls of it last night.
Sounds really great

@Shybutwilling2bfriends it was, I left it in the small Crockpot overnight on “warm” and will have it later.

That sounds good right now especially in the storm.

@FreestyleArt Did your area get hit hard by it? Any damages?

@cherokeepatti nah. Just heavy rain non stop and strong winds appears in and out. It get's cold in the morning and night.

@FreestyleArt Soup, stew or chili would be good then. I like being able to keep it in a Crockpot on “warm” so I can have it whenever I want.
Best of all you have beautiful teefers. 😁

@NativePortlander1970 the mushrooms were for added flavor and they did that well.
@cherokeepatti Mushrooms are the best umami enhancers when paired with caramelized onions 😊🤤😋❤
