I've tried most beers I've clapped eyes on and much prefer the darker ones but Hobgoblin Gold is good (and on offer in most places right now), think Spitfire Gold was ok too, they all seem to be mellowed down versions of the dark stuff.

Sorry didn't realise you were in The States, I should check first, I don't think you'll find either of them over there.

@GeniUs thanks-can't say I have heard of either so I will need to look around for those.

@GeniUs I might get lucky-there are a few international stores I can check. If nothing else, gives me a reason to travel. Lol

Most of good amber beers I know of are local to New England and I don't know where you are. Samuel Adams makes good dark beers and has a fairly wide distribution. Two ok but not great Mexican beers are Dos Equis Ambar and Negra Modelo.

@bostonspdo thanks for the recommendation-will have to see what I can find.

I live in the UK but I know you can get some really good English ales delivered to you and all real ales. Happy hunting
