Why doesn’t it hit me the same?

Am I not drinking fast enough? Everytime I drink 2 tall cans of Wicked I get drunk easily. Hell I can feel it after just a few sips. But how come when I drink a few shots of whiskey it doesn’t feel the same? I took 3 shots of Jack Daniels and it doesn’t feel like the same kind of drunk. I mean I feel it but it feels different somehow. Do different types of alcoholic beverages affect you in different ways? I just figured that with the higher alcohol by volume it’d hit me sooner.

Probably just tolerance, and yeah it does hit differently.

alcohols with residual sugars in them hit harder.

Take mead for instance, a good aged sweet mead will put you under the table quicker than the strongest vodka or whiskey

You have built up tolerance

@mysteryespresso nah i still have money. I just figured I’d be able to get the job done sooner with whisky versus a tall can of beer. You see cuz whiskey is stronger.
@HermannFegelein makes sense

Yes totally. Different alcohol hits differently not just the alcohol content.
Wicked is carbonated isin't it? That can affect how fast the high hits you.
I can no longer drink fizzy alcoholic drinks. It gives me a headache. Carbonation affects blood brain barrier and will hit all at once instead of over time
Whiskey is stronger and will be more toxic in the body with smaller amounts.
