When ever you go out to eat and drink with friends, are you willing to split the bill or do you only pay for what you ordered?

I don't have friends.

I don't go out.

I have a tear in my esophagus.

I can't eat anymore either.

I can't stand that nit picky business in a public restaurant. The poor wait staff...standing there while people argue about what they are willing to pay...which is completely classless, IMO.

Split the bill between us. However there are a couple of friends i wont go to a restaurant with as i end up paying for their greed ie coxktails, bottled water, 3 or 4 starters as they like to pick etc.

I don’t have friends. Same as @ScarletWitch. I used to go out to eat with friends. It made me fat, broke and unhealthy for a long time and life just sucked. Now I only eat out with my family or I cook. I’ve gotten pretty good with the grill and usually make tasty but healthy meals - think grilled veggies and seasoned chicken, beef fish etc. I’m now fit, healthy and have saved boatloads of money - which I use in much better ways.

If I don't see them often, I'm happy to treat. But if we get together a lot, we all pay our fair share.

I'm okay with split or it would be my treat. What become issue when your money isn't enough to pay the meal. Or you eat at expensive restaurant. It is definitely overbudget. Or your friend order more than your budget. Usually like that.

Usually split, because we usually order similar stuff, or just pay the whole thing. We do rounds, and we pay once me, next time them etc.

I never for drink because I don't drink alcohol. However, I happily split the bill for the food. At times, I have paid for the booze too on behalf of my friend if he/she needs help.🙂

This has never been an issue. We always pay our own bill. If it did ever present itself that way, I wouldn’t have a problem splitting the bill

We switch between paying for eachother typically. So I'll give a night out, or a couple, and then someone else will take the next one and so on

Lol..!! This depends on who we go out with. We have "split the bill" friends, and we have "separate checks" friends. It a complicated situation at times.

I ask way ahead of time how we’re doing it. If I’m rich then I will say “I’m buying” if I’m not then I probably won’t go

depends on what we ordered. I will usually pay for only what I ordered unless we ordered something to share like a platter

Normally if im willing to go out with people i dont mind covering the bill. Itd become an issue if i felt like it was me being used

I feel like the bill would get more expensive that way because nobody would want to.feel like they were getting jipped.

We usually split. If we are super close we fight over the bill, it becomes deep when they steal the bill from me.

I wouldn't mind paying the bill on occasion but wouldn't want to get stuck with the bill every time.

We each either pay for only what we order or we pay for the entire bill. It's a give and take thing.

I pay for what I ordered. It doesn’t make sense for me to pay more money than I spent.

I don’t have this problem, we get the bill split by who is paying for who.

one of us usually picks up the tab. it evens out in the end

It becomes an issue if you are friends with broke and leechy people.
When I used to always go out with friends it was not even spoken about we paid for our own meals if there were 3 or 4 of us, even if it was annoying for the server we always told them kindly but straight away to be prepared for this and we tip well.
In larger groups we let only one of us pay and we all sent them the money while still at the table and we rounded up so that person would walk away 4 or 5 dollars richer for their troubles.

Just ask for separate checks. You don’t even have to ask because the server will usually ask is it all on one bill or separate.
