A somewhat weird question...

Cilantro. For some of us it tastes like [b]soap[/b]. My understanding is that this is a genetic quirk that affects about 14% of the population.
Does anyone know of or use an alternative spice in Asian or Mexican dishes ?

For Mexican you can try epazote or culantro

I love cilantro lol it is kinda soapy

You could try basil as a substitute, though the flavor won’t be quite the same.
In some dishes, basil works well as a substitute for cilantro.

I’ve used basil or parsley as a substitute before

[@328496,bijouxbroussard] I had to google it lol. It looks amazing. I think you could get by with either parsley or basil. Or even leave it out. Now I’m hungry!
Coriander, they are used mostly as chopped and sprinklers and as chutney mixed with something else.

Luckily, I have no problem with cilantro, a MUST in most of my Mexican dishes.

I use [b]epazote[/b].

[@328496,bijouxbroussard] You can substitute other spices dependent on what you are making - i.e Beef use parsley or arugala, chicken us thyme, salmon use dill, etc - let me know what you're trying to make - I'm pretty good at spice and flavor matching -
