Is it Okay to Celebrate Myself

Achieving a fitness goal that has taken me 8-years to achieve? Hell yes!! Especially, as there is no one to share with, and say, “you go girl!”
The workout I did today, I couldn’t do in my 50s. It was just too fast paced, and too hard. I’ve attempted it a few times in these years, but gave up. Well, today, I did the whole routine. It was challenging, but fun, and it felt great that I could actually do it, with a few modifications to preserve my knees. This means I’m fitter today than I was when I was in my 50s. Heck, apart from all the arthritis and disk problems, I’m fitter now than when I was 30. Go Me! 🏆

That's great!!! You go girl:)
I have been getting back to it after not doing anything all of 2021. It was dumb of me yes, but I feel good getting back .

Thanks, Raven. 🤗 I’m glad you are doing something for yourself, and becoming more fit and strong, I believe keeps me from going mad altogether, in the days of Covid. Well done for getting back into it. Those first steps are the hardest. 👏💜@ravenwind43

@Carissimi I agree. Working out helps keep me sane.

You earned it!Go you! Awesome! You’re an inspiration!I’m in my fifties and don’t feel as fit as I did just a year ago.I have taken time off from working out and need to get back strength and endurance. This encourages me!

It’s been my experience that I’ll come across a very advanced workout that is just too advanced for me, but as I continue to improve my fitness level with other workouts, eventually, I can do the advanced one. Sometimes it takes years, but you then find you are fitter even though another decade older. Just start slow, at your own pace, and your fitness will return.

By the way, I’m now doing another advanced routine I was never able to keep up with, so that’s two I’ve conquered. I thought I had reached my peak of fitness a couple of years ago, but apparently not.

Good luck! @Tamberina

What does a sextagenarian workout consist of then?
(I'm really careful about sit ups and press ups as they both end up causing me to strain muscles).
Carissimi · 70-79, F
I do a variety of workouts. Step aerobics, kickboxing (one I did today that was very advanced - well all my workouts are advanced, but I modify some because of my knees), other cardio consists of burpees, mountain climbers, squat jumps, ski jumps (I have to be discerning with jumps, and keep them low jumps) jumping jacks, etc. Then I lift weights for upper and lower body, and yoga and mobility training. @GeniUs

@GeniUs I have to limit my shoulder work, due to an overtraining injury about a year ago. It still bothers me.
