It was a good movie. You have to remember that it was made in 1939 when movie making was still new. You have to keep that context in mind when watching older movies.
The movie won a bunch of Oscars in 1940, They cleaned up.

@DallasCowboysFan It was also made during Jim Crow (the U.S. policy of legal racial segregation). The black actors, including Hattie McDaniel, who ultimately won an award, were forbidden from attending the Atlanta premiere. During the Oscars they were forbidden to sit with their white co-stars; when Ms.McDaniel won her award she was summoned from a table near the facility’s kitchen.

"I don't give a dam"... for it.
PetiteJulie01 · 22-25, F
I’ve only watched part of the movie and I absolutely was bored to tears. I just don’t get the story land all and the movie looks so old and I’m not into vintage stuff like that. It was really boring frankly!
CraftyMarieArts · F
@PetiteJulie01 that’s alright. Do you like what you like. At least you’re honest about it

I saw it in school, but I don't remember much of it.
And I visited the house it was filmed in on a high school band trip
Well, I guess it wasn't filmed there, but it was shown in the movie

@DavidScott oh wow
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
I watch the movie and it’s OK. I don’t really care for movies like that and it was so boring sitting through that three hour movie.
CraftyMarieArts · F
@ElizabethBabe1994 yes very difficult is it to that movie
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
@CraftyMarieArts right?? Hey I sent you a message so whenever you get a chance can you read it?
CraftyMarieArts · F

A bit of trivia for you....the door they used in King Kong was burned for the movie GWTW when Atlanta was burning.
It's interesting how they filmed the movie. Especially if you consider it was made in the late 30's and basically everything they did for special effects was the first time it was done.

@DallasCowboysFan That same door was a leftover set piece from The 1927 film, The King of Kings, directed by Cecil B. DeMille.

Yes and I don’t like it. It’s too long and scarlet is a brat.
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
No. I don’t really like the movies too much. Just being honest.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
I've seen it, once or twice.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
I've seen parts of it.

Saw the movie, read the book. I wanted to be really clear about why I disliked something that glorified slavery.
CraftyMarieArts · F
@bijouxbroussard Yeah and also what I didn’t like was when Hattie McDaniel was excluded from the awards because it was “whites only”.
bijouxbroussard · F
@CraftyMarieArts She was allowed to attend, but she had to sit at a separate table near the kitchen.
CraftyMarieArts · F
@bijouxbroussard Oh yeah that’s right. Thanks for correcting me
