Yes. I have worked in textile mills and have seen how yarn and fabrics are treated before being sewn into finished products. I recommend a good washing before wearing any garment or using sheets on your bed.

Whether it was directly related or not, once I didn't and developed pityriasis roses thereafter, that lasted 6 weeks. Since then I will never take a chance.
@samueltyler2 I had that as a child, so I’m careful, too.

@bijouxbroussard it happened to me just before my wedding, the experience did not make me a happy camper.

Yes, always. All new clothing gets washed before I wear it. In some cases, you can't really know how it fits until you do. 🤔

These days clothes are not made in America. You have no idea where they have been. We even had a couple of clothes smell really bad. I wore a new shirt and got a rash under my arm. The dermatologist told me that is common in darker color shirts when they are not washed first. Now I wash every.

@cherokeepatti Trust me! I understand. C bought a few tops from a reputable clothing store online. When we opened the bag the tops stunk. The tag said they were made in Pakistan. She sent them back.

@Musicman I’ve ordered books online and when they arrived and I opened the box the smell was chemical. Some of them had to be put up for a few months before I could stand to open them up and read them. It doesn’t happen often thank goodness. They were printed in China.

All of my clothes came from a thrift shop so I always wash them first

Yeah, I'm not into getting a yeast infection from someone's snatch rubbing on the jeans before I tried them on or the skidmarks they left behind
@SkeetSkeet that does sound like Forever 21
Pretzel · 70-79, M
yeah, don't like the new smell
and want to wash the sizing or whatever they have on it
faery · 31-35, F
I wash all clothing I buy before wearing
Coralmist · 41-45, F
Not typically...the inside I just assume is fairly ok and hopefully no one tried it on.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
Never.
I like the new clothing smell. ☺
Adogslife · 61-69, M
Only if it’s very wrinkled.

No, I figure why bother. It's going to get more nasty with my funk. So Play That Funky Music
