Does Louis Vuitton/Gucci give plain shopping bags if you request them?

I live in NYC in a neighborhood that is dangerous at night for women or I guess if you make yourself a target. I just went to Dunkin and there was this guy sitting at the front window (where there was a table built in up against the window) and he had 3 huge Louis Vuitton shopping bags. This late at night it is a very high risk thing to do. And honestly he was smaller then me and I'm a rather small man.

*SO* I want to know, if you buy something from these types of stores, can you request a plain bag if for some reason you're going to be out late in the hood?
