Orson Welles voice best known for his radio voice, long before there was TV, done tons of narrator work on radio, in movie and Television. Best of all he is born in my home state of Wisconsin

Thank You For The

@HumanEarth We like Orson!!!
For a narrator of train stories for small children, I like Ringo Starr, who was the first narrator for Thomas the Tank Engine.

@GeretJan Thanks, I enjoyed that 😄
You haven't him listed - Alexander Scourby.

From IMDb:

The possessor of one of stage, screen, radio, TV and audio cassette's most distinguished vocal instruments, actor Alexander Scourby received his training via Shakespearean roles in the 1930s and perfected his vocal versatility on dramatic radio serials in the 1940's.

Also:

The Chicago Tribune wrote, Alexander Scourby has the greatest voice ever recorded, and is the world's best audiobook narrator.

@GeretJan

When I was a kid in public school and the class would watch films of various world events and other general topics, I took note of his voice even then so I looked for the narrator's name in the credits of some of those films that stood out and, you guessed it, it was Scourby.

I've heard of them
James Earl Jones, Alan Rickman were two who could read a phone book and I’d enjoy listening. 🥹

@Ferise1 @GeretJan

Yes, most famous for WB's "Batman the Animated Series," and the voice of Batman for about the next 25 years after that. He's also the voice of Optimus Prime in the Transformers movies.

@GoFish They were only examples, but Morgan Freeman is a great one. First a funny one. Not him, of course. But the second is.

@GeretJan is it AI?
@Ferise1 Nope, that's his voice. He famously recorded a satirical reading of Sonnet 130 ("My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun") for the star-studded compilation album When Love Speaks. The album, released by EMI Classics, featured various famous actors and musicians performing Shakespeare's works and was co-produced by Rickman himself.
