Mum of the Year over here just dropped my kid off at school with a black eye
My child had to have a bath when she woke up this morning because she told me there was sand in her hair. There was! Not sure how it got there but that was beside the point. Put her in the bath and told her we needed to be quick to get to school and work on time.
Normally I wash her hair. She decided it would be faster if she did it and asked me to just turn on the water for her. She tipped her head back and held the shower head above her, then told me I could turn it on. I am a complete idiot and forgot that it would need to warm up. Turned it on, it came out freezing cold, she gasped and let go of it, and it hit her square in the face.
The rogue shower head sprayed water everywhere, including all over me and her school dress that was hanging on the rad.
By the time I consoled her, got her hair washed, dried, changed my work clothes, blow-dried her dress, and found the Calpol, she got to school late, with no lunch AND with a black eye. That means I will have to leave work and take her somewhere for lunch today, not normally a big deal except I have a meeting today at 12:30… you guessed it, her lunchtime!
Great start to the week! 😫😬
