They’d probably appreciate any effort. Maybe a trip? Or more time together? Simply telling them you love them and being around. Mine both passed at 66 so your thoughts are valid, we could all go at any time really. It’s wise to cherish this time with them especially as you all get older. I hope you have many many years to enjoy your parents.

Tell them you we’re trying to find a way to make the most of hopefully the next 40 years with them. Spending quality family time together.
Don't ask, just initiate whenever you get the slightest opportunity.
