I Miss My Mother

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. I’ve been feeling pretty low most of the week. Today I thought of her when I went to the library. My mom was the one who taught me to love books and reading, and introduced me to the public library.

I wish I could give you a long tight hug. Mother's Day is a very cruel day for those of us missing our moms, and is even more cruel to mother's missing their child. The whole circus they make about it in the days preceding it makes it even harder, you can't go anywhere or do anything without it being shoved in your face.

When I was young my mom would take me weekly to the library. She loved to read. Anything from romance to historical biographies. Even as a teenager I went with her to the library, driving her when she became unable to drive.
