Depends on where were you sitting ?

She said "I want out!". Went to therapy for months, made several romantic gestures up to and including a personal video and poem about how much I missed her and a weekend in LA.

Still said "I want out!"

Filed the next day and kicked her ass to the curb.

Nope and no such plans either

Fighting non stop. My spouses inability to forgive anything and move on. I knew we would be fighting about the same things 20 years after they happened.

I just couldn’t take it anymore, I gave chance after chance, I gave way too many, then one day I just said enough. I’m not doing this anymore, it was never going to change, I was just letting myself down by staying.
I remember the day, it was just after Christmas 2018, he was complaining about me again, all he ever did was complain, caused mayhem every Christmas.

I left the house laughing at how crazy it all was, why am I tolerating this, I went for a walk and started crying.

I told him March 2019 it was over, we had to live together for a bit until he moved abroad.
Nearly 4 years to the date my divorce came through. It wasn’t easy with a pandemic on top and having to isolate with him.
Felt like I had the longest breakup ever lol 🤦🏼‍♀️

Our marriage basically had run it's course. We just wanted different things out of life.
My ex and i get along okay though. No reason to fight once the marriage is over.

The concept of marriage is strange to me It seems rather pointless 🤔
Montanaman · M
@SarithBorn my sister in law and her life partner have been together for almost 30 years and marriage would probably ruin what they have. Considered a common law marriage in Michigan.
I've been married for 35 years and going still

@RogueLoner I am guessing the marriage was short lived than?

@RogueLoner Average right now is seven to eight years so you were close to that.
Interestingly, that is ALSO the typical duration of most friendships.

Makes one wonder if people got married real quick if the marriage itself is 7 to 8.

Mine, BTW, lasted 14 years.

I had nothing left. He'd smashed everything up, ripped up my clothes, spent my money and refused to let me go to work. The neighbours rang the police and they arrested him. It was a ling time ago but he still does things to let me know he is there.
