Probably has something to Bo with babies not being able to shiver in order to warm themselves. So drinking something cold could cause their core body temp to fall into hypothermia.

Not refrigerator cold for newborns and infants. Room temp is fine.

The baby may drink it not-warm or they nay not. if they don't, warm it up.
