Wonders never cease!!

I've been ill this week. Flu. It really knocked me for six. Its half term, so at least I was off work.
I've really felt sorry for myself. No energy, very breathless. But....as usual, I've still been doing housework and cooking for everyone else. I going on holiday tomoz, so i've had washing and ironing to do.
Well today, my 31 year old son actually made me a sandwich and cup of tea for lunch...for the first time ever!!!!
Really!!
I nearly fainted! 🤣😅😂

Mom had me making my own food at 10 years old. Nothing fancy. Just simple things. Sandwiches was one of them though. Yet then I was a latchkey kid as well and spent a lot of time alone after school. She worked nights.

Breakfast was cereal.
School lunch she or I made.
Dinner I often had to warm up something she made on weekends on a TV dinner tray in the oven.

Yet sometimes I heated up fish sticks or a TV dinner.

Weekend or Holiday meals I watched her cook or even helped. Yes I did a lot of chopping. That helped me become a prepcook a few times later.

When I lived with my family, I was the workhorse, also...and no one EVER had pity on me or cooked for me.

I am so glad that your son is exhibiting a degree of humanity and feeling!
