I noticed how my mom is with my neice...

My mom as mom...

" thats just the way it is...deal with it"

My mom as a Grandma..

" ok...kay...now do you want your grilled cheese cut into hearts or stars?"

My mum didn't get to spend too much time with her girls growing up because of work. To me she was quite strict and a little distant, but I know she did her best for a large family. She's a fantastic grandmother now and I love to see how differently she relates to her grandchildren and the pleasure it gives her. She gets on especially well with my adopted daughter.

@SunshineGirl You gotta wonderful mom. And I concur...I actually love seeing her in Grandma mode. Given her a chance to live and express this different version of herself.
