is it normal to not always see eye to eye with your parents

i get on well with my dad, he's elderly now...i'm very close to my elderly mum too...but there is times with my mum, that she is stern and moody with me and we don't always see ' eye to eye ' on things....is this a normal thing, and how do i deal with it?

Of course it’s normal. As kids we think our parents know everything. As adults we realize that’s not really the case or that our views of things are different than their views.

My mother was so controlling of me that if I disagreed with her on anything she lost her shit on me. I didn’t know that wasn’t normal!

I’m a parent now and I actually welcome their different points of view and beliefs. It’s great for conversation and to learn to see things through the eyes of other people
