Is WiFi the new crack/meth? I got family members begging me for my password like its drugs.

make them complete a series of tasks to earn the daily password!..

I have a friend who wanted me to rig an antenna so he could steal his neighbor's wi-fi...a long time ago. I explained I was more likely to turn him in to the police. AND he was too un-techy to realize that it can't be "stolen" without the password. He went through a whole "hanging out in McDonald's parking lots" phase. 🤣
Early on, before password protected networks were industry standard, my friend would sit in the lot of business parks looking for stray signals.

@SethGreene531 some businesses offer it to their customers or patients who are waiting and no password needed to use it. I think Chick-Fil-A does, local orthodontists and a dental surgeon and no telling who else.
@cherokeepatti This was 2004 network technology. He was siphoning private, not public networks via leaking signals. The suites were for internal operations, with no services to the general public.

But yes, public WIFI is widely available nowadays in Dental offices, coffee shops, fast food, etc.

yes. perfect analogy. if I'm running out of data I have to find the next wifi connection. this is like how crack users who cannot get their fix start huffing paint thinner and pesticide.
