If he was vaccinated in May, he'll probably be fine. Even if he ends up in the hospital (which is somewhat unlikely) he'll still have a much better chance of recovery, because he was vaccinated in May.

I hope he recovers FAST...

i try to tell this to everyone. eat super healthy now. eat greens, cut out red meat until the duration. drink anything with vitamin d, and c. apple juice whatever. eat garlic. all of these things will boost your immune system.

i was better in two weeks i did nothing but eat greens, salad, broccoli, spinach, drink 8 glasses of water. i cut out sugar, got plenty of rest. i was better within two weeks already testing negative.

other people from my job who were sick were still testing positive months later. i would ask them about their diets one lady literally told me she did nothing but eat mcdonalds. she never got her smell back to how it originally was, nor her taste.

eat healthy now before you don't have the energy, same to your husband.

@DeluxedEdition I do not know if schools still try to teach kids about eating healthy, did they when you went through Elementary? My years were 1981 - 86.
DeluxedEdition26-30, F
@CestManan they did and it's like they stopped when we started peaking in middle school because they food pyramid kept changing. now they do it by "myplate" LOLLL
CestManan46-50, F
@DeluxedEdition "myplate" I wonder if that my pillow guy... Okay sorry, no bad jokes...

On a different note, in your experience, when people start getting screwed up from type2 diabetes, are they typically severely overweight or old or...? I guess anyone could have complications but where are the worst "tipping points"?

Yeah I could google that but I prefer unbiased feedback from actual people.

No. We just try to keep our distance and I don't let him breathe on me or by me. But I figure if I'm going to get it I'm going to get it. @MarmeeMarch

Hope you stay well.

I hope it isn鈥檛 too bad for him.
Zinc. Vitamin D. Vitamin B complex (nutritional yeast with B12 is more easily absorbed) and vitamin C (whole oranges). Boost your immune system. It is your best defense
hippyjoe195561-69, M
All the best to both of you. I do hope the best for both of you.
curiosi61-69, F
My brother got it, my sister in law did NOT.
SpoiledbratF
That's good news. @curiosi
Pretzel61-69, M

SpoiledbratF
Thanks @Pretzel

Has he gotten tested? It usually takes about 5 days between infection and symptoms, so it's unlikely that he started coughing today from catching it yesterday. It could be coincidence or he may have caught it earlier.
SpoiledbratF
Yes. He got the results last night by text. They said it would take 3 days but he got it a little sooner. @NerdyPotato

The vaccines (mnra) are about 88% effective for delta variant, maybe less at 6 months post vaccination

However the vaccine infers he is less likely to end up in hospital
SpoiledbratF
I hope so. I hope I get lucky and don't get it. I've been keeping my distance. @yeronlyman
