If I didn’t need something I didn’t accept it. Probably offended some but what the hell, is my home Fred Sanford’s junk yard or what. My mother-in-law tried to get me to take used red carpeting, the flat kind. I told her I didn’t want carpeting and especially not red carpeting. I had seen the same type at the university and it shows every dusty footprint plus anything else, just pops up at you. I had wood floors and she thought I needed to throw down some funky old carpeting to keep the floor warm in the winter. Plus I had a toddler that would spill drinks etc. No way.

It's trickery to make you their garbage hauler with a caveat of a future guilt trip they can lay on you at will once they learned you threw their valuable trash away. 😑

@Iwillwait they don’t want it to go to waste in a landfill and they are tired of it. Some of the stuff might not even be accepted by a thrift store. I’ve seen people drag up junk to a tornado victims collection drive that I would let a dog sleep on…bedding etc. That’s the very reason the charities here stopped having those collections, they were spending some of the money they collected plus volunteer’s time loading and dumping that stuff at a city dump.
