President Trump ALMOST made it through his term without doing something so wrong and stupid that all his positive accomplishments vanish.

Until Tuesday I supported the President overall because I liked what he had done policy wise and his overall policy plans. Now the best result is his resigning, his family be pardoned and he disappear into spending time at the various Trump golf courses while based at Mar-a-Lago. Rehashing Trump and giving Trump a forum will not allow the country to immediately move on. Punishing him will equal punishing the more than 360 million plus citizens by continuing to keep him in our faces.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Kudos....Manning up and facing the crowd takes strength. I do suspect however his golf retirement will be short lived. I think his wife, Russian and German banks, and Federal and state authorities may have plans to help fill in his time.😷
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Possibly. However that will put him back in the public square. Him disappearing will allow thr country to start moving forward instead of rehashing Trump and giving him forum will best serve the country. @whowasthatmaskedman
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@jackjjackson Again we agree. I think the group of a dozen or so senators who planning to support Trump in his bid to stall the confirmation were really looking to carve up Trumps following for themselves. But the riot, insurrection or whatever you want to call it changed everything. Trump is now a four letter word in Washington. But you are correct. Trump quietly leaving the stage would be best for the people. Sadly now a lot of people will take glee in their revenge on him..Whether he deserves it or not isnt the point. Its energy better spent elsewhere.😷

I guess nurtering a delusional narrative for 4 years, that destroyed the faith in democracy wasn't wrong and stupid enough for you till it caused consequences Jack.
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
I asked you on Thursday whether you still supported Trump , and you didn't respond. I guess you still had to wait a little longer to gauge which way the wind was blowing.

Trying to sound reasonable now , after four years of gloating and puerile memes , merely shows you up for what you are. A hypocrite and a shameless opportunist.

At least you can console yourself with the thought that you never had much of a reputation to lose in the first place.

Disappointing, but I am not going to hold him accountable for the actions of a these rotten criminals.
As for the POST election stuff - I applaud his fighting spirit but he should have known when it's time to call it, he didn't IMO. Could be a bunch of money hungry lawyers just kept egging him on and giving him false hopes - or maybe the CEO Billionaire in him came out and pushed the envelope on this.
@deadgerbil
Why are they rotten?
They are not patriots - they are not the people that seeked to make changes in this nation when it was born. They were a mob in numbers that took it upon themselves to break into our Capitol and wreak havoc. They probably think that they are heros - wrongo - they are nothing but a bunch of miserable thugs. And I hope when the manhunt is over - all of them are caught and brought to justice - big time. Long prison time.
That makes them rotten criminals.
deadgerbil · 22-25
@MarmeeMarch I agree 👍
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
That sounds about right @MarmeeMarch
deadgerbil · 22-25

On a serious note, at least you're able to admit Trump messed up. He's made a series of critical errors way before this, but that's besides the point. Fanatical trump supporters, like the one who is calling you a liberal cnn shill in the comments, will never see the light lol
deadgerbil · 22-25
@jackjjackson someone else just called you a rino too lol
Pffft rino
Are you a real republican or not? Or is a real republican a Trump cult member?

Do real republicans ascribe to voter fraud conspiracies?

Do real republicans sh!t all over masks and down play the virus?

Feel free to clear up this ambiguity
GERRI · 51-55, F
@jackjjackson Yes, the recently elected West Virginia law-maker that has been arrested for his part in the trespass of the Capitol had changed parties to be elected in the deep red state of WV. This is one area, IMO, the press fails to keep us informed. Unless the local press in WVa covered it appropriately the press failed. Then again, maybe parties should be a little more selective of who runs under their banner... Even that leaves for a bad taste, as well.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
The truth doesn’t serve the agenda of the media. @GERRI
TexChik · F
Pffft rino. Trump was not responsible for that no sense at the white house ... those were trained thugs .
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
@TexChik The Capitol Building...not the White House.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Identifying many of them as the same folks that showed up at BLM/Anifa events would do that. Someone should be studying the film now. @TexChik
@TexChik that’s right.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
don't give up. Trump just set up a trap for all the Elites by a long project that started a few years ago.

It's a matter of time before the 20th
GERRI · 51-55, F
Sweetie, the opposing idealogy isn't going to just let us "move on" --- We are about to enter 1984--- If you're not familiar with Orwell's book, just ask your Alexa to give you a quick synopsis.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@GERRI Do I get this right? Because I'm not sure if I'm with you. We have to be afraid because we are going to enter into a socialist form of state capitalism. Comparible with the days of Robber Barons, which is actually a form of hyper-capitalism right? And this will lead to to a 1984 type of dystophia? And Donald Trump was protecting us from this prospect?
GERRI · 51-55, F
@Kwek00 No, you didn't get it right.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@GERRI Okay, it all seems pretty confusing so far.
Nah, people have died he should face the consequences.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@InOtterWords I think he is oblivious to the damage he is doing to the nation. Its always about him. Not anything else. As for pardons. They are reserved for criminal proceedings. The Damages suit that caught up with OJ was a civil case, nor criminal.
@whowasthatmaskedman half the population is oblivious!
@jackjjackson where is the exaggeration? Sumner was just assaulted, here 5 people were killed?
rottenrobi · 56-60, F
I'm sure it's disheartening when you've been loyal, and supportive. My mom is going through the same feelings too. No matter what your political views are, what he did on Tuesday, despicable, and not presidential. You're right, in this one action, he discredited anything positive he accomplished.
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
He didn't have any positive accomplishments though? The economy was because of things Obama had put in place and apart from that all Trump did was cost taxpayers millions with his constant trips to Florida and alienate all his allies round the world, oh and spread a shit load of misinformation and lies.

Doesn't sound very positive AND he was surrounded the whole time with any number of things hanging over his head, the Russia investigation, (which was NOT at all disproven) his failures at diplomacy, his trying to bribe Ukraine, his dodgy tax dealings and fraud.

And the covid situation!!

I could go on!

But you and I do agree that we'd like him to just disappear, never to be seen of or heard of again.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Exactly. Which is why there is no need at this point to delve whether or not there were positive accomplishments. @Adaydreambeliever

Hold on hold on! He CANT go to mar a lago to live there!
@jackjjackson he PLEDGED to give up his right to develop mar a lago or use it for any purpose than CLUB USE
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
The apartment existed in 1993. Already developed. @Mistakesmakeus
@jackjjackson yeah it was already developed but it also states that it should no longer be used for any other purpose than a club which means the apartment can be used for vacations but not permanent residence. Read the passage or are you illiterate?
Allelse · 36-40, M
I'd like to hope that all of this will be over soon, but I don't know, people have a funny way of hanging onto things, dying on their hill, fighting their own version of Gandamack till the last man.
Lukeman · M
Everyone who voted for his opponent has punished and deprived the entire country of four more years of President Trump. It ends four years of bashing and trashing by the liberal news media. They were largely in support of the previous administration which was appalling. It's a good enough reason to cancel a television subscription which I did years ago to save money, but I have never missed it.

Et tu, Brutus?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
ANY IDEA WHAT? I’m extremely discouraged. Why hasn’t Harris resigned from the Senate? Should Heels Up be prepping for her new job? @cherokeepatti
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@jackjjackson yeah you’d think so, maybe she planning on voting for impeachment
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Wouldn’t they have had a dem replacement in there in plenty of time? @cherokeepatti
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
Trump will be president don't worry
TexChik · F
@KiwiBird eh 🤦🏻‍♀️
SW-User
Agreed. Still, punishing him one last time, if it works, will guarantee that he will be kept out of people's faces for the rest of his life.
It’s a shame most people are more comfortable being useful idiots than being independent thinkers.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
What is left that can happen between now and the 20th to prevent this travesty? @KrackerBash
SW-User
he abouta be former president🤲🏽🥰
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
I can see your point, we really don't want him to be more in the public eye and giving him a platform, because likely he will use it to present himself as a martyr. However, he has violated the law on several occasions (for example New York State laws) and I do think people guilty of committing crimes should face consequences for their actions.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
The eye foe an eye preoccupied will keep Trump in the public eye for at least a year and delay moving forward for at least that year. @basilfawlty89

jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Resigning as president for another incident after being impeached for another is a most serious punishment to a narcissist. BTW you omitted one child. @TJNewton

@TJNewton yeah just like the Clintons should be in gaol too. They killed quite a few people on the past
