One summer one of the young women who worked in my department was late to work one day. She came about 2 hours late. Her boyfriend was taking her to work. They got flagged down by some guy that her boyfriend barely knew and he asked if they could give him a ride. The boyfriend said “hop in” and he did. They got a couple blocks down the street and got pulled over by the police, were told to put their hands up and police held them at gunpoint to detain them for questioning. Apparently the guy who flagged them down had just robbed the Family Dollar store and wanted a getaway ride. You never know about people and what they’ve done or into if they are strangers.
