My sister in law always complaining to me about being “pasty white” (but she goes tanning a lot 🙄) I just hate seeing y’all get down abd feeling less than. I remember at my job, one of my coworkers also talked about being “a regular white girl” like as if she wasn’t special. It hurt me a little 😔😔

Being called “Sickly white” by my mother-in-law because I have hazel eyes and it’s hard to get a real tan was something that gave me a complex for a few years. She could go work out into the garden and get a nice tan by June. I got a clue about her one day when she said the tan looked like dirt and rust. I guess she had a stigma about being a Native and everything and it was a self-esteem issue. She didn’t have to put me down because of it.
