Have you experienced this in here?

I remember, in 2014 a trend started in EP. Some Asian women would often befriend people and lure them into a trap later. The trap was they needed money for the medical treatment of their loved ones. Most of these women were Filipinos.

I did come across one on EP. Then, one in 2017 on SW. Received a message from a likewise profile in here 3 months ago.

I did not get emotionally moved by their stories. Therefore, I simply avoided their messages and after sometime they blocked me.

I am certain that most of these profiles are fake. Some of them might not be women either.

Also, not Filipinos are like that. Good and Bad exist in every race and community.

Did you ever come across something like this in here?🙂

Well, some folks genuinely need help but we live in a time where online frauds are quite common. So, precautions are always better than cure. Beeter safe than sorry!🙏

I have worked with some and one family that had several members working there had a reputation for such things. One woman married my neighbor. Got her kids over here and then took the man to the cleaners…took the van he bought while married, took the house, etc. After maybe 3 years of marriage. Like you said not everyone is the same. There were others I worked with that wanted nothing to do with this family.

@cherokeepatti What happened to the innocent man? Hope he's fine.🙏

@SoLeRiMix His ex-wife took him in since he lost the house and vehicle. He got 2 retirement checks so he had income but still he lost a lot. He was working a full-time job to pay for all of that when she dumped him. He used to live in the apartment above mine and his ex-wife would come & visit and bring their grand baby. That was before he married this other one and then got divorced.

I have not noticed them on SW but they would not surprise me, even though this is not an obvious contact site. However, marriage-of-convenience and downright fraudulent attempts are old dodges.

I bought for a time, the contact magazine Matchmaker, and did find a few pen-friends through it; but abandoned it as it became sleazier and sleazier and carried fewer and fewer sincere advertisements.

As well as being infested with obvious prostitutes it carried an increasing number of ads from women abroad. Some probably were genuine, but I suspect most wanted to meet British men either for immigration via marriages-of-convenience, or simply to entrap them into sending money with no subsequent contact.

Most of these females were in various African and Eastern European countries, but curiously, quite a number were inmates of American prisons.

So perhaps yes, EP was and SW is, a route for some of the tricksters, but as I say I have not noticed such behaviour here. I cannot say if Facebook, Twitter, etc. are similarly misused, as I do not use those sites anyway.

Not here but at my work there was a guy who met a woman online from there. He sent her almost every cent he earned. He said he was trying to go through the process of getting her and her family here. He said for a living she worked for a mobile pharmacy. He went to visit her in her country and he got kidnapped. Since she knew the people who did it she convinced the kidnappers to let him go.

@morrgin OMG! That's real bad. Such fraudsters suffer a lot at some point of life. Glad that the lady let him free due to the little guilt in her.

Hope that guy is fine now.🙏

Yeh believe it or not. That particular user is still active under 3 different usernames.

@Gangstress Hope no one becomes the Victim of this potential fraud.🙏
